There are several types of rubber conveyor belts, including:

  • Smooth belts – For general material transportation.
  • Ribbed belts – Ideal for conveying on inclines.
  • Heat-resistant belts – Used in high-temperature environments.
  • Oil and chemical resistant belts – For the chemical and oil industries.
  • Antistatic and flame retardant belts – Used in mines and other hazardous areas.

The choice of belt must take into account factors such as:

  • Type of material conveyed (weight, abrasiveness, temperature).
  • Operating conditions (speed, incline, exposure to chemicals).
  • Width and thickness required to ensure durability and efficiency.

To increase the durability of the belt, we recommend:

  • Regular inspections to identify wear or damage.
  • Correcting misalignments to prevent premature wear.
  • Preventive maintenance of the rollers, drums and tensioning system.
  • Proper storage in a dry place protected from direct sunlight.

The main accessories include:

  • Mechanical splices and clamps – For quick repairs.
  • Drive and return drums – Essential for system operation.
  • Side guides and scrapers – To keep the belt clean and aligned.
  • Rollers and supports – To ensure efficient material transportation.

Repairs can be made in two main ways:

  • Hot splicing – More durable, but requires specialized equipment.
  • Cold splicing or with mechanical staples – Quick solution for temporary repairs.

Signs of wear include:

  • Cracks or deep cuts in the rubber.
  • Delamination (separation of the inner layers).
  • Loss of grip or frequent slipping.
  • Significant reduction in thickness due to wear.
